Why do Jersey beachgoers keep walking out into traffic?

Mammuth & Rosenberg – Pedestrian / Negligence

Always be attentive to the traffic as a pedestrian. You never know what a driver may be doing behind the wheel of a vehicle – whether they are distracted or simply not paying attention; always remember the simple rule of – safety first. Crossing the street, whether in a crosswalk or not, is not a casual dismissive action of – you can just walk whenever you want because you have the 'right of way'. "Sometimes the cars stop, sometimes they speed up to get by first. Sometimes one lane stops and the other doesn't. Sometimes pedestrians are caught mid-cross." The best quote that we saw in this article was – "Cars are traveling at 35 miles an hour," he said. "Pedestrians think if they step off the curb, the car's going to stop, and it's not. We've given them a false sense of security." Click here to read more.
