Holiday travel continues to increase and is expected to reach its highest in years this Labor Day Weekend. Despite improvements in automobile safety and accident awareness, the Labor Day Holiday is one of the most dangerous times of the year to drive and accidents are expected to increase with the increase in travel. The NSC reports that in past years:

35,200 US traffic deaths occured throughout the year

3.8 million crash related injuries requiring medical attention occured throughout the year

394 deaths occured just over the Labor Day weekend

Always be attentive to the traffic as a pedestrian. You never know what a driver may be doing behind the wheel of a vehicle – whether they are distracted or simply not paying attention; always remember the simple rule of – safety first. Crossing the street, whether in a crosswalk or not, is not a casual dismissive action of – you can just walk whenever you want because you have the 'right of way'. "Sometimes the cars stop, sometimes they speed up to get by first. Sometimes one lane stops and the other doesn't. Sometimes pedestrians are caught mid-cross." The craft beer industry is booming (especially in Pennsylvania and New Jersey), as consumers are becoming more interested in the many new styles and varieties of beer. Pennsylvania alone is home to over 100 craft breweries, and ranks second in craft beer production in the United States.

Pennsylvania has followed the trend of its neighboring states and adopted a “texting and driving” law that prohibits the use of “wireless communication device[s] to send, read, or write a text based communication while the vehicle is in motion.” Since “in motion” is not specifically defined in the statute, a safe bet would be to assume that if your car is in “Drive”, your cell phone, or any digital devices, should be put away.
